Teachers urged to exhibit neutrality



Jumapo (ER), Oct. 6, GNA –  A former official of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has asked  teachers, who would  be selected to work as electoral officers in Election 2012, to exhibit neutrality and maturity in the discharge of their duties.

       Mr Solomon Djaba_Mensah  former Eastern Regional Chairm of  GNAT,  who was speaking at the New Juaben Municipal World Teachers’ Day celebration at Jumapo on the theme: “Take a stand for teachers,”  reminded the members that the association was non-political.
        He asked teachers to promote peace in their various communities before, during and after the December polls.
        Mr Djaba-Mensah noted that teachers were central to world’s civilization and development.
      Ms Docia Abban, New Juaben Municipal Director of Education, reiterated that the association sought to unify teachers in pre-tertiary educational institutions, strive for better conditions of service and job security, and enhance their professional status
