Individuals and businesses can from next year make both local and international online payments easily, following a partnership between Ghana’s leading independent inter-bank electronic payment processing company, Global Switch, and American firm Cardinal Commerce Corporation.
Currently individuals and businesses can only order online but cannot make payments on certain websites if they are not enrolled on platforms such as the G-Secure to authenticate the cards.
G-Switch is being powered by Clydstone Ghana Limited which is a listed company on the Ghana Stock Exchange.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of Clydstone Ghana Limited Paul Jacquaye, the new system will have a huge impact on various sectors of the economy including the airline industry.
G-secure platform is “up and running” and that the company is presently signing banks and merchants onto the platform.
This is expected to be fully operating by January next year.
