Takoradi, Aug 15 GNA – Aziz Usif, a 19-year old man has appeared before a Takoradi Circuit Court for stealing and causing unlawful damage.
His plea was not taken and was remanded to re-appear on August.30.
Police Inspector Fuseini Yakubu, said on August 12 this year, thieves broke into the seamstress shop of Dorcas Cudjoe at the Takoradi Market Circle and made away with 12 materials.
He said later, the accused was spotted at New Takoradi with some of the missing materials and a report was made to the Takoradi Market Circle Police Station.
Inspector Yakubu said the accused was arrested and confessed that he committed the offences in his investigation cautioned statement.
He said the accused person mentioned some people that he sold some of the materials but have not been traced.
Inspector Yakuku said on August 13 the accused person reported sick and was taken to the Police Clinic at Sekondi for treatment but he tried to escape from lawful custody there.
He said the accused was given a chase and re-captured about 500 metres away and re-taken into custody.
