KNUST denies sex tape scandal

Kumasi, May 05, GNA – The authorities of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) have profusely denied that any of its students has been involved in a sex tape scandal.

It said those seen in a sex video that had gone viral on social media and had triggered intense public outrage were not students of the university as some people had been made to believe.

The disclaimer was contained in a press statement signed by Mr. Vincent Ankamah-Lomotey, Deputy Registrar in-charge of the University Relations Office in Kumasi.

It stated that “evidence available to us indicate that the lady in the video is not from KNUST”.

The statement said the video was not shot at the Independence Hall of Residence or any Hall of Residence on its campus and that it was equally untrue that there had been a public viewing of the video on the university’s campus.

It added that details put out there – the name of the lady, room number, programme of study and the year were all false.
