Kumasi, Sept 20, GNA – The health authorities have been urged to act decisively to stop the nursing and midwifery training schools from charging unapproved fees.

      The Ghana Nursing-Midwifery Trainees Association said the situation where trainees paid GHȼ4,500.00 instead of the approved fee of GHȼ1,400.00 should not be allowed to continue.
      Mr. Godwin Akazee Asabire, the National President, said the students had become over-burdened and were finding the going really tough.
      Making the call through the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi, he also complained about the amount of between GHȼ50.00 and GHȼ100.00 “we are made to pay for clinical practice” and asked that this was scrapped.
