Rio de Janeiro, Aug. 4, (GNA/dpa) – Top-ranking Novak Djokovic has won nearly everything there is to win in tennis, but the Serb said Wednesday that gold at the Olympic Summer Games would top his career.

“It would be probably ranked as one of the highest, if not the highest, achievement in my career, that I would have potentially,” the 12-time grand slam winner told reporters in Rio de Janeiro.

Although Djokovic is seen as one of the top contenders in Rio, along with British Wimbledon champion Andy Murray, he warned that “I have got to stay humble, got to stay very cautious.”

Djokovic won bronze in the previous Summer Games in Beijing.

Commenting on the ban of some Russian athletes from Rio because of state-sponsored doping, Djokovic said he did not know the details of the affair, but he added that he is “glad that there are some Russian athletes being part of the Olympic Games.”
