Aflao (V/R), July 29 GNA – The ARB Apex Bank Limited has highly commended the Agave Rural Bank (AgRB) for its recent study growth, listing it among the strongest Rural and Community Banks (RCBs) in the country.
It has ranked the Agave Rural Bank “strong” for the fourth and first quarters of 2015 and 2016 respectively, according to its Efficiency Monitoring Unit’s quarterly rating of RCB’S.
Mrs Francisca Dedei Attipoe, Deputy Head, Human Capital Department, ARB Apex Bank, said this while opening an agency of the Agave Rural Bank’s at Aflao.
Speaking on behalf of Kwadwo Aye Kusi, Managing Director of the Apex Bank, Mrs Attipoe commended the management and staff for extending their services saying their slogan, “Woeli, Mieli”, meaning (we exist because of you) is appealing.
She urged the bank to improve upon its operational performance in the Aflao area, by increasing its deposit base and granting quality loans.
Mrs Attipoe said the Apex Bank’s will to continue providing the relevant banking service roles to the RCBs to ensure customer satisfaction is attained.
She said services such as cheque codeline clearing, treasury management and Vigo and Western union money transfers, in addition to running ATM operations, now in the offing, are to promote efficient rural banking service delivery.
Mr Francis Kwame Attipoe, Board Chairman, AgRB, said aside taking advantage of the booming economic environment in Aflao, the branch is to create access to their numerous customers who have to travel to Dabala or Sogakope for their banking needs.
He said the AgRB commits itself to the renewed spirit of banking and assured the people of the Ketu South of the best and most convenient services, adding that their bank brings up to 10, the banks now in Aflao.
According to the Chairman, the bank has diversified its target market in areas of agriculture, small-scale enterprises and microfinance and would play out this in Aflao.
He said the bank also adopted strategies including investment in technology and ICT platform, personnel training and retaining, staff retention, branch network expansion and product development to maintain its growth in the volatile business and financial environment.
“We have just rolled out a five-year plan to model our bank on improving our image, give it a new phase and make our presence felt in the markets in which we operate and even beyond”, he said, adding that there are plans to extend to Adutor and Agbakope.
