Apostles International School holds graduation

 Accra, Aug. 4, GNA— Government would continue to ensure that the needed logistics are made available to ensure quality education delivery and support to private schools.

          To this end, children, parents, guardians and all stake holders are expected to contribute their quota to complement the effort of government.

          Mrs Angela Tena Mensah, Adenta Municipal Director of Education, said this in an address read for her at the Speech and Prize-Giving Day of Apostles International School at Madina in Accra.

          The event was on the theme ‘Developing Skills of Future Leaders ‘.

           Mrs Mensah said children all over the world are being given special attention due to the strategic position they occupy in the development of the nation.

          Mrs Mensah said children without doubt are the embodiment of hope and the future aspirations of every society.

           The Municipal Director of Education said early childhood and Basic Education was a very important phase in development in the child’s life.

            She said an infant’s environment greatly affected their brain and biological development, adding that children who did not reach their full cognitive and social potential may not attain their expected status.

        Mrs Mensah said from the pre-natal period to eight years children were at the formative years and undergo rapid growth that was very much influenced by their environment.

          She said developing the skills of future leadership in a child was by actively involving him or her in social activities and aiding their reading habits.

          She commended the school authorities for the proper training given to the children which  had led to the attainment of various honours.

          Mr Daniel Nii Sai Torto, Headmaster of the school, said the school which was established as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in 2007 with 15 pupils, now has an enrolment of 600.

           He said pupils were made to pay GHC 2.00 daily as their tuition fee, to complements government’s effort in making education more affordable.

      Mr Torto commended the Ghana Education Service (GES) for supporting the school in the area of manpower training, logistics and guidance.

He also called for support from Non-Governmental Organizations and from all interested in enhancing our educational structures.
