Klefe (VR), Aug. 9, GNA – Mr Egypt Kudoto, Volta Regional Youth Organiser for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has alleged that the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are in an electoral alliance.
“A vote for PPP is a vote for NPP. They are in alliance so don’t be deceived by the choice of running mate from the Volta Region and vote for PPP,” he warned.
Mr Kudoto was addressing the launch of “operation 80,000 votes” in the Ho Central Constituency for President John Dramani and Mr Benjamin Kpodo, Member of Parliament for Ho at Klefe.
He said the choice of a running mate for Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom from the region was a “coy” to break the front of the NDC and asked the electorate to reject the PPP and NPP.
Mr Kudoto said: “The fact the Dr Nduom is a successful businessman doesn’t mean that he can be a good President. His numerous banks in the region are because of his business interest and not because he loves Volta Region so don’t be deceived. Our man is President Mahama.”
Ms Sheeba Aloryito, Constituency Women’s Organiser, NDC, said President Mahama had done so much for the Constituency and asked the electorate to retain the government in power.
Mr Kpodo urged the people to come out in their numbers to vote massively for him and President Mahama to continue development projects in the Constituency.
Mr John Kwadzo Gyapong, Regional Chairman, NDC, noted that every eight years, turnout at polls reduces and appealed to the electorate to come out and vote to avoid the stress of a second round voting.
“We need all the votes to avoid second round. So even if we have to carry the sick to go and vote, let’s do it,” he said.
He said targets for the region were 26 parliamentary seats and 1,300,000 votes for President Mahama and advised against complacency.
Mr Ransford Delali Kasu, Klefe Ward Coordinator, NDC, who hosted the launch, urged the electorate to be mindful of lies by the PPP and NPP.
