YES secretariat invites business plan proposals

Accra, Aug. 27, GNA – The recently launched Youth Enterprise Support (YES) initiative Secretariat is inviting Business Plan Proposals from young Ghanaians who are interested in setting up their enterprises.

Accra, Aug. 27, GNA – The recently launched Youth Enterprise Support (YES) initiative Secretariat is inviting Business Plan Proposals from young Ghanaians who are interested in setting up their enterprises.

 

    The YES Secretariat has announced that it will start receiving business plans, ideas and proposals from young and prospective entrepreneurs from Monday September 1, to Friday, October 10, 2014.

    A statement released by the Secretariat and copied to the Ghana News Agency said interested persons who met the published Eligibility Criteria were to submit their business plans, or ideas for consideration.

   YES, an initiative of President John Dramani Mahama, was launched on August 12, 2014 with a seed capital of GH¢10 million.

   The YES Initiative has been designed to help Ghana’s young and innovative population turn great ideas into thriving business enterprises.

    Mr Kojo Adu Asare, YES Coordinator, said the eligibility criteria requires that one must be a Ghanaian citizen and below the age of 35, completed at least Junior High School and submit a business plan that shows the ability to create a minimum of five job opportunities within a certain time frame.

    “Your business proposition cannot include gambling, alcohol production or distribution, tobacco, narcotics or weapon distribution or production, and the business must be situated within the borders of Ghana,” Mr. Adu Asare added.

    He also noted that applicants must provide proof of their citizenship, educational qualification, and also two letters of recommendation or reference in support of their application.
