Pelungu Primary school receives support from Antwerb

Pelungu, (UER), June 8 – GNA- The Pelungu Primary School in the Nabdam District of the Upper East Region, has received assorted gifts from the Antwerb International School in Brussels valued at GH₵ 14,500.

Pelungu, (UER), June 8 – GNA- The Pelungu Primary School in the Nabdam District of the Upper East Region, has received assorted gifts from the Antwerb International School in Brussels valued at GH₵ 14,500.

     The items were made up of 100 dual desks, eight tables for teachers, 200 primary text books, mathematical sets, black boards, drawing instruments and gardening tools.
     The sponsorship was made possible through a partnership programme between TRAX Ghana and the donor.
     Mr Vincent Subbey, Director of TRAX Ghana, who presented the items said as an agricultural promoting organisation, the inclusion of garden tools such as head pans, watering cans, and shovels, would inculcate in the pupils farming skills.
     He said it would also encourage them to take up agriculture in future, and cultivate vegetables to support the school’s feeding programme as well as generate income.
     Mr Subbey asked the school authorities to put the items to good use and ensure that they are well maintained to extend their life-span.
     Mrs Regina Pondor, who received the items on behalf of the school, thanked TRAX Ghana and Antwerb International School for the assistance and called for continuous collaboration.
     Mr Ben Zoti, Head teacher of the school expressed gratitude to the benefactor for the donation and said the support would help the pupils in their academic work and other practical endeavours.
     Mr Solomon Adongo, Regional Development Officer at the Ghana Education Service urged the pupils to take advantage of the gifts to improve on their studies.
