Valley View University initiates basic schools concept in Dodowa

Accra, Sept. 25, GNA – In an effort to provide quality education to the children living at Dodowa and its environs, the Valley View University has started operating a basic school concept called the VVU Basic Schools.

     This was after the construction of a 35-classroom block for the basic schools which included classrooms for crèche to Junior High school and four washrooms by the Maranatha Volunteers International, an Adventist Non-Governmental Organisation based in the United States.

     Ms Annie Oye, Secretary to VVU Basic Schools Implementation Committee, said the running of the school had started with the admission of 222 pupils from Dodowa and its environs.

     She said the school which is located at the former JJ Nortey Hall has 17 teachers and attendants, and a head teacher with two assistants and starts from crèche to JHS One.

     She said studies began on 10th September adding that admission was still in progress and appealed to parents to corporate with staff of the schools to ensure that their wards were brought up in a disciplined manner.
