India, Oct 20. GNA- Head coach of the National U-17 team, the Black Starlets, Paa Kwesi Fabin has said, he is envisaging a tough battle against their African opponents Mali, in the upcoming quarter final clash in the ongoing Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) U-17 World Cup, India.
Ghana having lost to a more physical Malian side at the finals of the last African U-17 Championship in Gabon, would need to be more disciplined and physical to edge out the Malians and progress to the next round of the competition.
In an interview coach Fabin noted that, his players are ready for the game and would leave no stone unturned to make into the next round of the competition.
“When it comes to playing African teams, we know each other very well.
“It is going to be a cagey encounter, but we are prepared for the game, just like any other team, which has qualified for the competition.
"We are aiming at gold and that is the more reason we have played and gotten this far," he said.
Coach Fabin also commended National Supporters at the competition saying, "it is always a nice feeling to raise your head and realize you have supporters mobilized for you in the stands.
“It gives morale to the boys and I urge the supporters to support the team no matter the situation," he said.
Ghana after ten years of absence in the showpiece is poised to reclaim the lost glory on Saturday, when they take on African champions, Mali at Guwahati, at 11:30 local time.
