Kumasi Asante Kotoko to host WAFA on Wednesday

All Sports

Accra, March 14, GNA  - Kumasi Asante will invite West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for match day seven encounter on Wednesday.

The porcupines dropped points for the second time this season as they were held to 1-1 draw by Bolga All Stars at Tamale in their last fixture and Wednesday encounter presents him with opportunity to make amends by picking three points.

With an impressive home record, the Reds would want a victory to keep pace with Aduana Stars, who are ahead of them on the league log.

WAFA on the other hand, won 2-1 against Tema Youth at their favorite home grounds in Sogakope, last weekend.

Notwithstanding their bad away record, the academy boys would be a tough opponent for Kotoko in Kumasi.

Meanwhile, Accra Hearts of Oak would travel to Tema to lock horns with Tema Youth Football Club.

Having won their second game of the season at home, an away victory would be a perfect result for the Phobians as they seek consistency. Tema Youth have had somewhat a topsy-turvy performance and would therefore need an extra strength to overcome Frank Nuttal’s men.

Resurgent Wa All Stars would play host to Ebusua Dwarfs at Wa Park on Wednesday afternoon, after a sloppy start to the season.

The defending champions have picked up their pieces, winning their last three premier league games.

Coach Enos Adepa’s side looks favorite as Ebusua Dwarfs are yet to pick a point in their away games this season.

Ashanti Gold SC would come up against Liberty Professionals at the Len Clay sports stadium. The miners have conceded nine goals in their last three games, a reason for them to worry as they battle free scoring Liberty Professionals. Coach Bashiru Hayford will need only a victory to secure his position as the gaffer for the Obuasi based club.

Aduana Stars would also lock horns with  Medeama Sporting Club, at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa. The league leaders are undefeated, having amassed a whopping 16 points out of a possible. At their favorite Stadium, the Brong Ahafo based side stand as favorite to overcome the Yellow and Mauves on Wednesday.

Elsewhere, Accra Great Olympics would play Inter Allies at the Accra Sports Stadium whereas Berekum Chelsea host Bolga All-stars at the Golden City Park.
