Accra , Nov 15, GNA - The owner of Tema Youth football club and a member of the GFA executive committee, Mr. Wilfred Osei Parma has expressed great optimism that Ghana has a clear chance of qualifying despite the set back in Egypt.
“We have a clear chance of qualification, Egypt would play Uganda in Kampala and any result aside a victory for Egypt would give us a chance of qualification. The most important thing for us to do is to concentrate on our matches, if we don’t do that and we lose focus that would be the end of the hopes of Ghanaians. We need good results in our remaining matches, both home and away, granted that Uganda wins against Egypt in Kampala.
The Black Stars on Sunday afternoon lost by a lone goal to Egypt in the qualifiers for Russia 2018 in Alexandria. Ghana has enjoyed a three successive World Cup appearance but would have to be play above themselves in the subsequent matches to earn qualification.
“We would also have to go to Kampala and get a good result, though it won’t be easy. We would play the AFCON 2017 before the remaining qualifiers and luckily enough we are in group with this same teams, which would be a great preparation or rehearsals for us. We need to get a psychological boost with the AFCON 2017 and hopefully we would have a superior urge over the two sides.
“We played very well against Egypt, but we lacked quality replacement, especially in the attack. If we had Gyan in the game against Egypt it would have been a different ball game since we dominated.” he stated.
Mr. Osei told the GNA sports desk that the rumors of Kelvin Prince Boating's return is not necessary at this moment.
