Accra, Sept. 20, GNA – The Minister of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD), Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo will be honoured by the Chiefs and People of Akyem Adukrom in the Eastern Region on Friday, September 21.
The Minister is being honoured for the number of development projects he has brought to the people since he took over as the sector Minister.
“This is in recognition and appreciation of honourable Ofosu-Ampofo’s leadership role in bringing a number of development projects to Akyem Adukrom since he took office as Minister of Local Government and Rural Development,” a statement issued in Accra said yesterday.
Jointly signed by the Mr. Kwadwo Oppong and Ohene Djan, the Programme organizers, the statement said Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo, since his assumption of office as the sector Minister, under the government of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had transformed the lives of the people of Akyem Adukrom in the area of infrastructural development projects.
The projects include, the construction of School blocks, to meet the educational needs of the community as well as the building of a major bridge linking the communities.
“The Minister was always swift to act whenever he was approached by the people to address their needs, particularly feeder roads, streetlights and potable water,” the statement said.
The Akyem Adukromhene, Barimah Oppong Ofori II, would be the host whilst the Eastern Regional Minister, Mr. Victor Smith and the East Akyem Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Simon Peter Asirifi would attend as special guests.
The statement also sent out an invitation to all citizens of Akyem Adukrom to grace the occasion.
