The competition was organized by the Bosomtwe District Assembly with support from the Ghana Tourism Authority and the Multi-Media Group.

Presenting the awards to the winners, Mr Ekow Sampson, Ashanti Regional Director of the Ghana Tourism Authority, said the competition, which had become an annual event was aimed at promoting domestic tourism in the region.

The Regional Director commended the swimmers for their show of sportsmanship and the enthusiasm with which they went into the competition.

He announced that the Town and Country Planning was piloting a development scheme along the area to help streamline the usage of land on the lake basin to avoid haphazard development.
