Tension mounts high following clash between Moslems and Indegenes

Hohoe(V/R), June 11, GNA - The situation at Hohoe where there is a raging feud between Moslem Youths and the indigenes remain tense with sporadic incidents being reported.


     Soldiers and Police are on the streets firing occasional salvoes and three people have been reported killed and the circumstances of their death is unclear.
     The Ghana News Agency arrived at a hospital where two people said to have suffered injuries from the warning shots were being rushed to the operation theatre and unconfirmed reports indicate that a policeman has been beaten and injured and three others are missing.

The Ministry of the Interior has on the advice of the Volta Regional Security Council and by the Executive Instrument imposed a curfew on Hohoe Township and its surrounding areas with effect from Monday, June 11.
